In the United States, as well as many other countries a rat is associated with a bad thing. Often times we associate a rat with a filthy rodent. Other times a person may be referred to as a rat. When a person is referred to as a rat, most often it means that that person has told on someone else or is a tattle tale. In being a Rat in a Chinese horoscope is considered a great honor.
